New Geekscape Article

As you may (or may not) know, I’m a feature writer for Geekscape.net in my spare time. I just wrote a new article, so you should check it out here: Top Five Reasons 2010 will Suck.

Animating Advocacy

I recently animated a video discussing the process of Job Growth in the recession for the Center for American Progress. The video was created entirely in after effects and took about a week to fully animate. The goal was to create a motion graphics piece with simple and pleasing movement, sounds, and aesthetics. Geekscape Bumpers and a New Year’s Resolution

For those of you who don’t know, I’ve been writing for the Geekscape.net website for over a year now. Recently, Jonathan London—Geekscape’s founder—has asked me to create some graphics and stuff for the site and the Geekscape podcast.

This past weekend, I churned out a Geekscape bumper. Check it out below.

Over the next month or so, I hope to completely revamp the entire opening intro of the show with some much needed After Effects love. The more motion graphics I create, the more I realize the true need to learn a true 3D modeling program…I’m leaning towards Cinema 4D. In fact, that may be my goal over the next year or so. A belated New Year’s resolution, if you will.
